"The Hidden Life of Paintings" is an operatic piece-collage composed of excerpts from Baroque operas by Monteverdi, Handel and Vivaldi.

The Secret Life of Paintings is a musical collage of fragments of baroque operas that have been patched up together to create a series of short tales revolving around the epoch’s painting masterpieces.

The young and exceptionally talented members of the Opera Academy are accompanied by the Capella Regia Polona Early Instruments Ensemble of the Polish Royal Opera under Krzysztof Garstka.

Arias from the operas like "Orlando", "Ariodante" or "Alcina" taken from a larger whole, become the basis of stories wrapped around scenes captured in the works of baroque painting masters.

What has learned Vermeer's ”Girl Reading the Letter" ? What is Rembrandt's “Night Watch” talking about just before marching out? And who will catch the maiden's slipper from Fragonard's painting " The Swing"? These and many other questions will be answered by the show “The Hidden Life of Paintings” .
